Jump-Start Spring!
The first sign of spring is the Capital Region Flower & Garden Expo at the McDonough Sports Complex at Hudson Valley Community College, Troy, New York. See large-scale gardens and floral-themed exhibits, and a Marketplace filled with over 190 flower and garden-themed retail exhibits, an indoor farmers market, and NYS wine tastings. The Flower & Garden Expo offers a unique shopping experience for houseplants, cut flowers, branches, bulbs, seeds, herbs, garden tools & equipment, patio furniture, dried flowers, pottery, garden decor, unique regional food products, floral art, jewelry, apparel and more. There are educational stations thoughout the show to provide valuable insights into maintaining and creating unique outdoor spaces. Since its founding more than 50 years ago, Wildwood has provided a broad range of community-based supports to individuals of all ages living with the challenges of complex learning disabilities, autism and other developmental disabilities. Today, Wildwood’s comprehensive continuum of services suppports 3,500 individuals and families annuallly to maximize their independence. Whether it is community, education, employment or housing, Wildwood’s timesless goal is to help people live a life of dignity, productivity and fulfillment. Though Wildwood no longer manages the Capital Region Flower & Garden Expo, they are still very involved. A portion of each ticket sold is donated to Wildwood.
