Celebrate the first weekend of spring at the Capital Region Flower & Garden Expo, March 22-24 at Hudson Valley Community College. It’s a one-of-a-kind event featuring spectacular displays constructed by the region’s best floral, garden and landscape designers.

“The Capital Region Flower & Garden Expo is a must for backyard gardeners seeking inspiration or for anyone looking for a bright, colorful, uplifting event in March,” says event manager, Pennie Gonzalez.  “This event has grown tremendously in the last few years. Simply put, we have more houseplants and garden centers, more hands-on educational exhibits, more food trucks and food offerings, and an expanded indoor farmers’ market.”

Upstate New York’s premier garden and flower show will mark its 31st year when the annual Capital District Garden & Flower Show returns to the 60,000-square foot McDonough Sports Complex at Hudson Valley Community College, Friday March 23 through Sunday, March 25.

Renowned for its full-scale landscape exhibits and creatively designed gardens, the Capital District Garden & Flower Show brings together local landscape professionals to transform the arena into a backyard environment complete with shrubs, trees, flowers, ponds, waterfalls, retaining walls, sidewalks and lawns. The exhibits require months of planning and precise timing to force early blooms on thousands of flowers with breathtaking results.

The Wildwood Connection

The Capital District Garden & Flower Show is a spring time tradition that started 28 years ago by Wildwood Programs. Back in 1987 a group of dedicated volunteers and staff realized that Wildwood needed to create an event the community could participate in and benefit from by serving as a fundraiser to help support the many innovative programs for neurologically impaired and learning disabled individuals and their families.
