Fred will discuss all things “dirt” including macro and micro nutrients, compost, beneficial fungi, bio-char, bacteria and more. From container gardening to large garden beds, edible produce to ornamental displays, this presentation will open your eyes to what is happening in your soil and what you can do to make it better.

Fred Breglia is the Executive Director of Landis Arboretum and an International Society of Arboriculture (ISA) Certified Arborist with over 30 years of experience in the green industry. Fred is a frequent speaker on all things tree related, and an educator working with anyone interested in trees and nature. Capital Region residents know him well as the Tree Man, a regular guest on WAMC’s Vox Pop Radio Show. A well know ‘Big Tree Hunter’ Fred is a member of the American Forests National Big Tree Cadre, and also an ADK 46-er who has successfully climbed all 46 of the Adirondack High Peaks.
